Kalumburu Modula Stainless Steel Swimming Pool
Indigenous Pool – Kalumburu, Western Australia
One of the most remote communities in Australia has a new pool, and it takes advantage of pre-fabricated stainless steel panels to speed up the build, reduce costs and ensure the longevity of the highly anticipated facility. Hydrilla engineers and construction experts collaborated with MCH Solutions & Kimberly Green Construction for this project. Our team travelled to the site to assist in the installation of the pre-fabricated swimming pool system at Kalumburu, the northernmost settlement in Western Australia.
Swimming pools are acknowledged for playing an important role in remote communities. They offer a sense of place, acting as a meeting area for greater connection, inclusiveness, and togetherness. Research has shown that pools in remote Aboriginal communities lead to improved physical, social, and psychological health, enhancing general well-being and educational outcomes.
