The Boandik Community Wellness Centre’s purpose-built hydrotherapy pool supports Limestone Coast’s residents to access therapeutic treatment for diseases and conditions such as arthritis, musculoskeletal injuries, insomnia and pain management. The completed pool is 12.5m x 8.5m, fully tiled with a depth ranging from 0.9m to 1.15m. A disability-accessible ramp with rails on both sides ensures the pool is compliant for access by all levels of accessibility. Including an entire perimeter handrail and anti-slip tiles on the floor provide peace of mind and support for the elderly and physically limited patients expected to make the most of the constantly warm waters.

Swimming Pool and Spa Association Award Results

The high-quality finish and accessibility of this community pool were recognised by the Swimming Pool and Spa Association and achieved the following result:

• 2020 Highly Commended – Commercial Pool over $250,000 (South Australia)
• 2021 Gold Winner – Community Project (South Australia)
• 2021 Gold Winner – Community Project (National)
