The Fleurieu Aquatic Centre
Port Elliot – South Australia
The Fleurieu Aquatic Centre is a modern sports and recreation facility. It features a main pool, rehabilitation pool, program pool and splash park to support the lifestyle and well-being of the local community. The state-of-the-art facility showcases quality workmanship and in-depth knowledge of the best practice operational requirements. The Victor Harbor and Alexandrina Councils spearheaded this project to deliver a community-requested contemporary aquatic facility. The additional fitness and recreation services built in this Centre benefit the wider Fleurieu Peninsula Community. The Fleurieu Aquatic Centre features a 25m Main Pool. Additionally, the Centre features a Warm Rehabilitation Pool, Multi-Purpose Program Pool, and Outdoor Splash park as part of the $21 million project.
The Fleurieu Peninsula is well known for its diverse marine environment. Victor Harbor Council’s visual identity features a whale’s tail as does a popular water feature in the town’s recreational square inspiring the internal water play facilities design. The water play features a large blue whale tail, a focal point of the design.
