Salisbury Aquatic Centre
Salisbury- South Australia

Nestled in the picturesque Happy Home Reserve, home to towering gum trees, you’ll find Salisbury Aquatic Centre. Once simply a summer pool affectionately named ‘Happy Homes’, the outdoor 50m pool was constructed in 1966 and helped create almost 6 decades of memories, not to mention the swimming and water safety lessons. Now the largest aquatic centre in the north of the Adelaide Metropolitan area, Salisbury Aquatic Centre is made up of 3 heated pools- an outdoor 50m swimming pool open through the summertime, and two indoor pools: a 25m lap pool and a program pool. Plus, we can’t forget the splash pad, and not one, but 3 water slides.

The original concrete 50m outdoor pool was nearing 60 years old, with both the pool and plantroom nearing the end of their usable life. As the community continued to grow, the pressure on the local government to create a more inclusive and year-round facility grew. The community consultation period returned an overwhelming request for a warm water program pool, or hydrotherapy pool. The evidence around the value of hydrotherapy for rehabilitation and general wellness is well documented, and in many cases, the pool can be multipurpose; it can cater to swimming lessons, exercise classes, and general wellbeing.

To support the ongoing success of Salisbury Aquatic Centre and the facility manager BlueFit, Hydrilla’s specialised service technicians provide regular monthly commercial pool servicing, in addition to the daily monitoring performed by the facility manager. This incorporates everything from general preventative maintenance, probe calibrating, advanced water monitoring, to media changes as required, UV servicing and lamp changes, minor renovation works and assistance procuring pool accessories.
